Control Products, Inc. Achieves CMMC Level 1 Compliance, Strengthening Cybersecurity Across the Defense Supply Chain

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

East Hanover, NJ
December 16, 2025 — Control Products, Inc. (CPI), a leading U.S. manufacturer of high-reliability control solutions, announced that effective November 10, 2025, the company has successfully achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 (Foundational) compliance. This milestone underscores CPI’s long-standing commitment to safeguarding sensitive information and supporting the cybersecurity requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).

CPI views CMMC Level 1 as a critical foundation and is already actively preparing for the next phase. The company anticipates achieving CMMC Level 2 compliance by mid to late 2026, further strengthening its cybersecurity posture and expanding its ability to support advanced defense programs that involve CUI.

CMMC is the DoD’s mandatory cybersecurity framework designed to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) from increasing cyber threats. The program establishes a unified, tiered set of cybersecurity standards that defense contractors and subcontractors must meet as a condition of doing business with the DoD. Beginning in April 2026, organizations that do not meet the minimum required CMMC level will be ineligible to participate in DoD contracts, making compliance a critical prerequisite for continued engagement in the defense supply chain.

By achieving CMMC Level 1, CPI has demonstrated compliance with foundational cybersecurity practices aligned with FAR 52.204-21, which focuses on basic cyber hygiene to protect FCI. Level 1 compliance is achieved through a formal self-assessment and affirms that CPI has implemented essential safeguards such as access control, system integrity, and basic information protection practices across its operations.

CMMC consists of three certification levels, each designed to address progressively more sensitive information and risk profiles:

  • Level 1 (Foundational): Focuses on basic cyber hygiene and the protection of FCI through 17 practices aligned with FAR 52.204-21, assessed via self-assessment.
  • Level 2 (Advanced): Addresses the protection of CUI through the implementation of 110 controls outlined in NIST SP 800-171, requiring triennial third-party assessments and annual affirmations.
  • Level 3 (Expert): Applies to the most sensitive CUI, building on Level 2 with enhanced practices from NIST SP 800-172 and government-led assessments.
